As I seriously begin to study my dreams I dig up this book I have had for many years. When I first looked at it I would have rated it the same as another reviewer - 2 stars - 'it's ok.' But know that I am serious, and after studying other sources, I am finding a wonderfully comprehensive source. All dream books are not the same and you must understand exactly what it is you want to know! It is called a 'dictionary' however it is not in a typical dictionary format. If you are looking for a word and then it's dream meaning you will find meanings in the broader sense. For instance, part two of the book is the dream lexicon, so here you will find meanings. There are 8 chapters and each chapter will be devoted to a topic. One topic is Abstract Qualities. A sub-topic in this chapter is Time and Space. There are several different elements of time and space such as position. You will then be given definitive examples of how our 'position' in a dream can be revealing. Are confident or dominant in relation to the object or theme being represented in your dream? Or maybe you are behind or below something which could represent feelings of superiority or inferiority. So the word 'position' becomes the dictionary word that you will receive the meaning for.
Part 1 is extremely useful in teaching why we dream, the history of dreaming in our human culture, the nature of dreams, the sense and substance of dreams, and finally how to work with your dreams. I have a large hardbound book, it has 255 pages, full of colorful pictures that can represent our dream world. A great book to add to your studies and library.
